Why the registered mobile number matters
The registered number is commonly used for OTPs, login recovery, alerts and service-request updates. Losing access can block other corrections, so update it before an urgent pension task whenever possible.
When self-service may work
If you can still log in and receive OTPs, check the profile or personal-details section for a mobile correction option. Some changes may require additional authentication or approval.
When you no longer have the old number
Use the official recovery or grievance route shown on the portal. Keep your Pensioner ID, PPO details and identity documents ready. Never send full documents to a number received through an unsolicited call or message.
Safe update checklist
- Confirm the new SIM is active and registered in your name where required.
- Open the official portal directly.
- Submit the correction through the available profile or service-request option.
- Complete OTP or identity verification.
- Save the request number and test login recovery after approval.
If OTP is not arriving
- Wait briefly before requesting another OTP.
- Check signal, SMS blocking, DND or a full message inbox.
- Confirm the masked number on screen belongs to you.
- Avoid repeated rapid attempts, which may temporarily restrict requests.
Frequently asked questions
Can I change the number without the old SIM?
Possibly, but additional identity verification or an official service request may be required.
Will changing my mobile number change my bank details?
No. A mobile correction should not itself alter pension bank details.
Should I share an OTP with a helpdesk caller?
No. Do not share OTPs, passwords or bank credentials with callers.
Official verification and safety
Use only the official SPARSH website reached through a trusted government source. Do not share your password, OTP, Aadhaar details, bank PIN or full document images with unknown callers or unofficial agents.
