SPARSH Profile Update: Personal Details, Mobile, Email and Record Corrections

First identify whether the detail is a simple contact field or part of an authoritative pension record. The correct route and evidence can be very different.

What can be updated through a profile or service request?

SPARSH can provide pensioners with routes for maintaining or correcting information, but not every field should be treated as an ordinary editable profile field. Contact information may follow one workflow, while a name, date of birth, family detail, bank account or service particular may require supporting records and approval.

DetailWhat to check firstLikely handling
Mobile number or emailWhether you can access the existing registered contactContact/profile update or account-recovery route
AddressCurrent address and acceptable proof requested on the live pageProfile or service request
Name or date of birthAuthoritative service and identity recordsEvidence-based correction and approval

Bank accountAccount number, IFSC and bank proofDedicated bank-account update

Before submitting a correction

  • Write down the value currently displayed in SPARSH.
  • Write the corrected value exactly as it appears in the authoritative document.
  • Identify which document proves the correction.
  • Check spelling, initials, dates and numbers across all supporting records.
  • Scan complete, readable pages and keep the originals unchanged.
  • Do not submit several overlapping requests for the same correction.

A small mismatch can matter. For example, changing the spelling in the portal without correcting the source service record may simply cause the request to be returned.

Step-by-step profile correction workflow

  1. Sign in through the official SPARSH pensioner portal.
  2. Open the profile or relevant service-request area shown for your account.
  3. Select the exact category that matches the field to be corrected.
  4. Compare the existing value with the authoritative record.
  5. Enter the corrected value without adding abbreviations or variations that are not in the evidence.
  6. Upload only the documents requested for that transaction.
  7. Review the old value, new value and attachments before submission.
  8. Submit once and save the acknowledgement or request number.
  9. Track the request and read any remarks asking for clarification.
  10. After approval, sign in again and verify that the displayed information is correct.

Editable field or authoritative-record correction?

If the portal does not permit a field to be edited, that is often a clue that the value comes from another authoritative record. Do not try to work around the restriction. Read the portal remark and determine whether the correction must originate from the Record Office, Pension Sanctioning Authority or another competent authority.

For identity-related fields, the goal is consistency between the pension record and the supporting official record, not merely making the dashboard look right.

Supporting documents

The exact document list can vary by transaction. Use the list displayed by the official portal at the time of submission. Depending on the correction, evidence may include an identity document, service record, certificate, address proof, family-related document or another record specified by the authority.

Do not alter an official certificate image to make records match. If two genuine records disagree, identify which source record needs formal correction.

Why a request may be returned or rejected

ProblemWhat to do
Unreadable or cropped documentRescan the complete relevant page clearly.
Name or date differs across evidenceResolve the authoritative mismatch before resubmitting.
Wrong request categoryUse the dedicated bank, family, identity or other relevant route.
Incomplete certificateInclude required pages, seals, signatures and identifiers.
Unsupported declarationProvide the evidence requested by the live process.
Duplicate requestTrack the existing acknowledgement instead of opening another case.

After approval

  • Verify the corrected field exactly.
  • Check related pension documents where the correction should also appear.
  • After a mobile/email change, confirm that authentication messages reach the new contact.
  • Make sure no unrelated field changed unexpectedly.
  • Keep the completion order or acknowledgement with your pension records.

Safety

Never send a password or OTP with a profile-correction document. Mask unnecessary bank or identity information in ordinary screenshots used for troubleshooting. Submit sensitive records only through an authorised government process.

Frequently asked questions

Can I directly edit my name in SPARSH?

Not necessarily. Identity and pension-record fields can require documentary evidence and approval.

Can I change bank details as a normal profile edit?

Use the dedicated bank-account update process when the portal provides one.

Why was a genuine document rejected?

The document may be unreadable, incomplete, inconsistent with another authoritative record or submitted under the wrong request category.

Should I submit the same correction again while it is pending?

No. Track the existing acknowledgement and respond to its remarks.

What if an approved correction still displays incorrectly?

Keep the approval evidence and raise a targeted follow-up referencing the completed request.

Can I edit a scan so the spelling matches?

No. Do not alter official evidence. Correct the underlying record through the authorised process.

Does changing a nominee automatically determine family-pension eligibility?

No. Nomination and family-pension eligibility are separate matters.

Should I keep the uploaded documents?

Yes. Keep the exact submitted copies and acknowledgement securely.
