Before requesting a bank update

Compare the bank account number, IFSC, account-holder name and branch details shown in your records with a recent passbook or bank statement. Do not close the existing pension account until the change is accepted and pension is credited successfully to the new account.

Documents to keep ready

  • Cancelled cheque or clear bank passbook page showing the pensioner’s name, account number and IFSC.
  • Identity and pension records requested by the portal.
  • A working registered mobile number for OTP and status alerts.

How to submit the request

  1. Sign in through the official SPARSH pensioner portal.
  2. Open the profile, personal-data or service-request area.
  3. Select the bank or payment-details correction option available to your account.
  4. Enter the details exactly as maintained by the bank and upload readable documents.
  5. Review every digit before submission and save the acknowledgement or request number.

What to do after submission

Track the request until it shows a final decision. Keep both bank accounts active during processing. After approval, verify the first credit and compare the pension slip with the credited amount.

Common problems

Requests may be delayed by a name mismatch, unclear cheque image, inactive account, wrong IFSC, joint-account restrictions or incomplete verification. Correct the source record first rather than repeatedly submitting the same request.

Frequently asked questions

Should I close my old pension account immediately?

No. Keep it active until the update is approved and pension is successfully credited to the new account.

Can I use another person’s bank account?

Pension payment normally requires an eligible account matching the pensioner or family pensioner’s verified records. Confirm the permitted account type before submitting.

What should I save after submission?

Save the acknowledgement, service-request number, uploaded documents and screenshots of the final status.
