SPARSH Aadhaar Update: Correct Aadhaar Details, Mismatches and Verification Problems

Treat Aadhaar-related changes as identity-record corrections, not a cosmetic profile edit. First identify whether the problem is the Aadhaar record, the SPARSH pension record or a mismatch between the two.

Start by identifying the exact Aadhaar problem

ProblemWhat it may meanWhere to look first
Aadhaar number entered incorrectly in the pension recordSPARSH record needs correctionRelevant SPARSH identity/profile request
Name differs between Aadhaar and pension recordTwo authoritative records do not matchCompare service/pension and Aadhaar records
Date of birth differsIdentity validation can failIdentify the legally authoritative source before changing anything
OTP goes to an inaccessible mobileAadhaar or SPARSH contact route may be outdatedCheck which system is sending the OTP
Verification repeatedly failsData mismatch or authentication issueRead the exact error and compare fields character by character

Before submitting an Aadhaar-related correction

  • Check the Aadhaar number digit by digit.
  • Compare the pensioner name in SPARSH with the name in Aadhaar.
  • Compare date of birth/year and gender where relevant to the verification.
  • Keep the supporting identity document requested by the live portal.
  • Do not upload an edited or cropped Aadhaar image that hides required information.
  • Mask unnecessary Aadhaar digits in ordinary troubleshooting screenshots.

General correction workflow

  1. Sign in through the official SPARSH pensioner account.
  2. Open the profile/identity correction or relevant service-request option.
  3. Select Aadhaar or the identity field that is actually wrong.
  4. Enter the correct value exactly as supported by the authoritative record.
  5. Upload the evidence requested by the live process.
  6. Review every digit and spelling before submission.
  7. Submit once and save the acknowledgement.
  8. Track any verification or return remark.
  9. After approval, check the displayed identity details again.

If the Aadhaar record itself is wrong

If the error originates in Aadhaar rather than SPARSH, changing only the pension portal may not solve the mismatch. Correct the Aadhaar record through the appropriate official Aadhaar process first where required, then use the updated authoritative record for the pension correction.

Do not create two conflicting “correct” versions merely to make an online form pass.

Common reasons the request may be returned

Return reasonWhat to do
Name does not matchCompare spacing, initials, surname order and authoritative records.
Date mismatchIdentify which source record must legally be corrected.
Unreadable evidenceUpload a clear complete scan according to the live requirement.
Wrong request typeUse the dedicated personal-details/identity correction route.
Duplicate requestTrack the existing acknowledgement instead of resubmitting.

After approval

  • Verify the Aadhaar-related field displayed in SPARSH.
  • Check whether linked identity validation now succeeds.
  • Keep the approval/closure order.
  • If related pension documents should change, verify that they do.
  • Raise a follow-up only if the approved correction has not actually been reflected.

Privacy and fraud safety

Aadhaar is sensitive identity information. Do not send a full Aadhaar image to an unknown WhatsApp number or caller. Never disclose OTPs. Use only the secure government workflow and verified support channels.

Frequently asked questions

Can I simply edit Aadhaar details from the profile page?

Not always. Identity corrections can require supporting evidence and approval.

What if my Aadhaar name and PPO name differ slightly?

Compare the authoritative records and correct the appropriate source rather than inventing a third spelling.

Should I edit the Aadhaar image to match SPARSH?

No. Never alter official evidence.

What if the OTP goes to an old mobile number?

First identify whether the OTP is being sent by Aadhaar authentication or SPARSH, then use the appropriate official contact-update route.

Why does verification fail even when the Aadhaar number is correct?

Name, date, contact/authentication or another linked field may still differ.

Should I submit another request while one is pending?

No. Track the existing acknowledgement and respond to its remarks.

What should I save after correction?

Keep the acknowledgement, evidence submitted and final approval/closure record.

Can an agent ask for my Aadhaar OTP?

No. Never disclose an OTP to a caller or unofficial helper.
