Current LTC block
DoPT's latest LTC FAQ identifies 01 January 2026 to 31 December 2029 as the next regular block year after 2022–2025.
Basic eligibility
Under the CCS (LTC) Rules, LTC normally becomes admissible after completion of one year of continuous service under the Central Government, subject to the conditions of the rules.
Home Town and Any Place in India
Under the regular block system, the employee's entitlement is worked out between Home Town LTC and LTC to any place in India according to the applicable four-year block and sub-block rules.
Family eligibility
Only eligible family members under the CCS (LTC) Rules can be included. Check dependency and family-definition conditions before booking.
Carry-forward
LTC carry-forward is rule-based and should not be assumed automatically. Check whether the unavailed concession from the immediately preceding block/sub-block is still admissible in your case.
Before booking
Confirm the exact LTC occasion, block/sub-block, declared home town, entitled class of travel and authorised booking route before purchasing tickets.
Keep records
Retain approved leave/LTC application, tickets, boarding passes where required, invoices, payment evidence and any advance sanction.
