Important: State grants and rates change. Verify the latest Government Order and application route before applying.

Where to start

Use the Telangana Sainik Welfare portal and the appropriate Regional Sainik Welfare Office. Telangana reorganised its civil districts, while the Sainik Welfare organisation continues to operate through its regional office structure.

State Special Fund assistance

The official Telangana Sainik Welfare portal lists State Special Fund assistance for categories including penury, orphan children, 100% disabled children, 100% disabled ESM, legal assistance and vocational/competitive-exam training, subject to the scheme conditions.

Self-employment assistance

The official portal also lists self-employment support, including State interest-subsidy arrangements and DGR-linked self-employment schemes.

Education and CAP certificates

Children/dependants of eligible serving personnel and ex-servicemen may need certificates from the Zilla/Regional Sainik Welfare authority for CAP-category educational reservations where applicable.

Re-employment and rehabilitation

The Department coordinates welfare and rehabilitation with Kendriya Sainik Board and Directorate General Resettlement and assists with resettlement of ex-service personnel.

Verify rates before applying

Some welfare pages carry scheme amounts and inception dates from older Government Orders. Confirm the current amount and income/age conditions with the Department before relying on a figure.

What to prepare

Keep ESM identity/discharge documents, Telangana residence/address evidence where required, pension/non-pensioner status proof, bank details, family/dependency documents and the scheme-specific certificate.

Escalation

If a regional office cannot resolve a welfare issue, escalate to the Directorate of Sainik Welfare with your registration details, application date/reference and copies of prior correspondence.

Central benefits are separate

State welfare does not replace Central schemes administered by Kendriya Sainik Board, DESW, DGR, ECHS or SPARSH. An eligible veteran may need to use both State and Central channels depending on the benefit.
