State authority

The Government of Punjab lists a dedicated Department of Defence Services Welfare, headquartered at Punjab Sainik Bhawan, Chandigarh.

Punjab Ex-Servicemen Corporation

PESCO is an organisation under the Department and provides employment and other services for ex-servicemen. Treat PESCO employment as a separate route from general Government reservation.

District-level support

For local verification, certificates and welfare assistance, use the appropriate district Sainik Welfare office/departmental channel rather than relying on informal agents.

Employment and rehabilitation

Punjab's official structure includes ex-servicemen employment and rehabilitation support through the Department and PESCO.

Grievances

For unresolved State welfare matters, keep your written representation, ESM details and prior district correspondence and escalate through the Department's official grievance/administrative channel.

What to prepare

Keep discharge book/ESM identity card, Aadhaar or accepted ID, Punjab residence details where required, PPO/pension status, bank details and scheme-specific supporting documents.

Central schemes are separate

KSB/RMEWF, DGR, ECHS and SPARSH benefits remain Central schemes even when a Punjab authority assists with verification or employment.

Do not assume an old Punjab concession or cash award remains unchanged. Use the latest Department notification or Government Order for the current benefit.

Central benefits are separate

State welfare does not replace Central schemes administered by Kendriya Sainik Board, DESW, DGR, ECHS or SPARSH. Check whether your benefit is State-funded, Central-funded or requires both State verification and Central approval.
