Important: State grants and rates change. Verify the latest Government Order and local application route before applying.

Online registration

The Maharashtra Sainik Welfare portal provides OTP-based registration/login for ex-servicemen, widows and orphans. Use the mobile number linked with your State Sainik Welfare record where applicable.

Benevolent Fund

The Department's current schemes page lists a Benevolent Fund Scheme that supports eligible ESM, widows and families through financial, educational and resettlement assistance.

RMEWF

The portal also identifies Raksha Mantri Ex-Servicemen Welfare Fund (RMEWF) as a Central Government welfare scheme. State/District Sainik Welfare offices may assist with verification and routing.

District Sainik Welfare offices

The Department maintains a Zilla Sainik Welfare team structure covering the State. Use the official portal to locate the appropriate district office rather than relying on old contact lists.

Grievance facility

The current Maharashtra portal provides an online Department Grievance form with district selection, query description and attachment upload.

Employment and resettlement

State Sainik Welfare offices also support rehabilitation/resettlement and link veterans to relevant Central and State employment resources.

What to prepare

Keep discharge/ESM identity documents, State registration details, Aadhaar or accepted ID, PPO where relevant, bank details, family/dependency documents and scheme-specific evidence.

Do not assume old rates remain current

Even where older circulars show a grant amount, verify the current scheme detail or Government Resolution before applying.

Central benefits are separate

State welfare does not replace Central schemes under Kendriya Sainik Board, DESW, DGR, ECHS or SPARSH. Check whether your benefit is State-funded, Central-funded or requires both State verification and Central approval.
