Important: State grants and rates change. Verify the latest Government Order and application route before applying.

Where to start

Contact the Zilla Sainik Welfare Office for your district. District Government pages describe these offices as the local point for welfare activities for ex-servicemen and their families.

Central welfare grants routed locally

Current Andhra Pradesh district Sainik Welfare pages identify support such as education assistance, penury, funeral, marriage, orphan and medical-related grants for eligible ESM/widows/dependants. Many of these are Central KSB/RMEWF schemes facilitated through Sainik Welfare offices.

Education assistance

District pages refer to education grants under RMEWF and the Prime Minister's Scholarship Scheme for eligible wards. Verify course eligibility and current application dates on the official KSB portal.

State rehabilitation role

The AP Sainik Welfare Department is responsible for resettlement and rehabilitation of ex-servicemen and war-disabled personnel and welfare of their families.

Sainik Rest Houses

The Andhra Pradesh 2025–26 budget includes provision for construction of Integrated Sainik Rest Houses at district headquarters, showing continued State support for veteran infrastructure.

Do not rely on old grant amounts

Some district pages still display legacy State grant amounts. BenefitDesk therefore does not reproduce those amounts as current unless supported by a recent Government Order. Ask the ZSWO for the latest sanction rate.

Documents to prepare

Carry ESM identity/discharge documents, residence proof, Aadhaar or accepted ID, PPO if applicable, bank details and the benefit-specific proof such as education certificate, medical papers or death/marriage documents.

Application route

For KSB/RMEWF benefits use the current online KSB route where required, while obtaining local verification/certification from the Zilla Sainik Welfare Office when the scheme calls for it.

Central benefits are separate

State welfare does not replace Central schemes administered by Kendriya Sainik Board, DESW, DGR, ECHS or SPARSH. An eligible veteran may need to use both State and Central channels depending on the benefit.
