ECHS DETAILED GUIDE

Official ECHS Resources: Verified Portals, Policies and Beneficiary Links

A safe starting page that separates official ECHS destinations from third-party guidance and helps beneficiaries verify a procedure before submitting anything.

Independent guideReviewed 31 August 2026
Verify before acting: ECHS policies and online procedures can change. Use the current official ECHS website and the latest policy/SOP for the final process.
Self-service guide: Follow the route below and verify changing contacts or portal links on the live ECHS website before acting.

Step 1: Start from the official ECHS website

Use echs.gov.in as the starting point for live notices. This is especially important for services whose availability or procedure can change.

Step 2: Use the official Useful Links area

The ECHS Useful Links section currently provides routes for Smart Card Online Application, Record Office, Regional Centre, Station Headquarters, Polyclinic, Card Distribution Polyclinic, Claim Status, Beneficiary Claim Submission and Empanelled Hospital Details.

Step 3: Check the policy section before relying on an old PDF

ECHS procedures are distributed across policy/SOP sections. Check the relevant current section and compare dates. A newer specific order may modify an older general SOP.

Step 4: Verify an empanelled hospital before planned treatment

Use the official Empanelled Hospital Details route and verify both the hospital and the speciality required. Do not rely only on an old saved list or search-engine snippet.

Step 5: Use official claim routes

For a beneficiary reimbursement case, use the official Beneficiary Claim Submission and Claim Status routes. Save the generated Claim ID/acknowledgement and copies of uploaded records.

Step 6: Use the live contact directory

Regional Centre, Station HQ and polyclinic appointments and numbers can change. Use the live ECHS directory rather than depending permanently on a copied phone number.

Step 7: Protect your account

Never share OTP, password or card PIN with a person claiming to provide ECHS help. Confirm that a portal belongs to the official ECHS domain before entering beneficiary details.
