ECHS DETAILED GUIDE

ECHS Mobile Number Update: Change Registered or Wrong Mobile Number

Use the correct official route depending on whether you are changing an existing registered number or correcting a wrong number entered during registration.

Independent guideReviewed 31 August 2026
Verify before acting: ECHS policies and online procedures can change. Use the current official ECHS website and the latest Stats & Automation policy for the final process.
Self-service guide: Follow the steps in order. Keep screenshots, acknowledgement/reference details and copies of anything submitted. Never share an OTP, password or security answer with an unofficial person.

Step 1: Choose the correct mobile-number problem

ECHS currently publishes separate procedures for (a) changing an already registered mobile number and (b) correcting a wrong mobile number entered during initial registration. Use the route that matches your case.

Step 2: Keep these details ready

Keep the primary beneficiary/ECHS card details, login credentials, new active mobile number and access to any identity or card record requested by the live portal. If the existing number still works, keep it available for OTP where the portal asks for it.

Step 3: If you are already registered and want a new number

Open the official ECHS Smart Card application and sign in with the primary beneficiary login. Use the current Change Mobile Number option shown in the account. Enter the new active number carefully and submit the request according to the live instructions.

Step 4: Complete Parent Polyclinic verification if the system asks for it

ECHS has historically routed registered-number changes to the OIC Parent Polyclinic for acknowledgement/verification. If the live system generates a form or asks you to approach the Parent Polyclinic, download/print the generated document, carry the required card/identity copy and complete that verification. Follow the current June 2025 procedure shown on the official policy page if its steps differ from an older form.

Step 5: If the wrong number was entered during registration

Use the separate ECHS procedure issued for a wrong number entered during registration. After login, the mobile-verification window provides a Change Mobile No route. The official July 2025 procedure says the user can submit the security answers recorded during registration, enter the new number, complete captcha and request the change. A fresh OTP is then sent to the corrected number so registration can continue.

Step 6: What happens after submission

Complete every OTP/verification step shown by the official portal and save a screenshot or acknowledgement. Do not assume the number has changed merely because the form was submitted; verify that the new number is actually accepted for subsequent OTPs or account communication.

Step 7: If the old mobile is lost or OTP is not coming

Do not create a duplicate ECHS application. First check whether your case qualifies for the wrong-number-during-registration route. If not, approach the OIC Parent Polyclinic or official ECHS card-support channel with beneficiary/application details and proof of identity. Never send an OTP or password by WhatsApp, email or phone.

Step 8: How long will it take?

The official policy index does not publish one guaranteed disposal time that applies to every mobile-number-change case. Complete any requested Parent Polyclinic verification promptly and follow up through the same official route if the new number is still not reflected.

Step 9: If the request is pending or rejected

Keep the request screenshot/reference, date of submission, Parent Polyclinic and the new mobile number (mask it when emailing). Start with the OIC Parent Polyclinic for verification-related issues; for portal/card-system problems use the official ECHS support route shown on the live site.
