Retirement gratuity = 1/4 of reckonable emoluments × each completed six-month period of qualifying service.
Pension Regulations for the Army also prescribe a maximum multiple and a separate monetary ceiling. Because monetary ceilings have been revised over time, this calculator lets you enter the ceiling only after checking the order applicable to your retirement date.
Why the ceiling is not hard-coded
An old regulation can show an earlier rupee ceiling even when a later pay-commission or Government order has increased it. Hard-coding an outdated ceiling would make the result misleading.
Qualifying service matters
The calculator does not decide which service counts. Use the qualifying service accepted in your pension/service record.
