Formula
DA/DR amount = basic pay or basic pension × percentage ÷ 100.
Total before other additions/deductions = basic amount + calculated DA/DR.
Current pensioner reference
DoP&PW OM dated 24 April 2026 increased Central Government Dearness Relief from 58% to 60% of basic pension/family pension, including additional pension/additional family pension, with effect from 1 January 2026. The OM also covers Armed Forces pensioners/family pensioners.
Why the percentage remains editable
DA/DR rates change periodically. Keeping the field editable lets the calculator remain usable for an earlier or later rate once you verify the applicable Government order.
